supporting your local Arts
Hey guys, looks like summer is coming to an end, and making way for some of my favorite season, Fall! Hopefully you got to get out and do some fun stuff over the summer before having to head back to the hum drum of everyday life.
I did get some sunlight this summer, but that isn’t important to me right now.
I have actually got something very exciting that I get to be a part of coming up this weekend! I am attending a fundraiser for a local arts organization, and I’m going to have a table there as well! The arts are a very important part of communities, and the organizations that help support them are even more so.
As us creatives know, there is a reason the “starving artist” stereotype exists. a lot of creatives have to juggle working a full time job while honing their craft [this is exactly what I do, its basically having three different jobs…] but we do it for love of the game! but it can be difficult organizing things on your own, like classes, or maybe you want to put on a play you wrote? or you want to connect with other people who also love writing as much as you do! you just wish there was more people out there who enjoy this stuff as much as you do, but you have no clue where to look!
it gets lonely, not really knowing who else is out there doing stuff in your neighborhood like putting on plays, or writing, or painting. sometimes it can feel like you are the only one out there in your little dark corner of the world that is doing anything creative, and a lot of the time, that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Enter: the Arts Organizations! These are groups of people who believe strongly in the Arts as a whole, and are devoted to connecting folks like you and me locally to other people just like us, as well as to those who wish to experience the arts themselves!
these organizations help make things happen like: community theater, local writers and poetry guilds, Concerts, Music lessons, art classes, the list goes on and on! These people are seriously awesome, and without them, it would be much harder to make things like classes and lessons happen.
So, where is this event happening at inky??!! well i am glad you asked! Details below!
the event will be happening at Sawmill Pizza and brew shed just outside of Clear Lake Wisconsin on the 23rd of August, from 1230 until 6pm!
